Princeton Student-Athletes Celebrate "Read Across America Day" with students at Johnson Park Elementary

Representatives from the Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, Women's Track & Field, and Men's Ice Hockey teams headed across town on Wednesday, March 2nd to read books with children from multiple grade levels.

Sarah Cummings '11, Bianca Reo '12 and KC Wade '11 represented Women's Track & Field; Sara Chehrehsa '12 and Sam Wierzbicki '14 from the Women's Soccer team; Megan Bowen '13 and Kristen Helmstetter '14 from Women's Basketball; and Matt Godlewski '11 and Cam Ritchie '11 representing the Men's Ice Hockey team. Women's Soccer Head Coach Julie Shackford provided logistical help as well.

"Read Across America Day" occurs in conjunction with Dr. Seuss's birthday; accordingly, the student-athletes shared several of Dr. Seuss's classics with the kids. Favorites included "Yertle the Turtle," and "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish," which was a hit with the younger set.
