Coach for College Summer 2024 Applications Are Open

Applications for the Coach for College program for Summer 2024 are now open!

Coach for College is a unique program that brings student-athletes from different universities together for a fun summer of teaching students in rural Vietnam. Participants are split into teams with other student-athletes for three weeks and assigned specific school subjects and sports that they teach to middle school aged Vietnamese children. Each coach can expect to gain valuable leadership skills, lifelong friendships, and exciting cultural experiences as they travel and teach abroad. The PVC has sponsored nearly 70 Princeton varsity student-athlete participants over the past decade.

PROGRAM SPONSORSHIP & FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENT:
The PVC will sponsor up to (7) student-athletes to take advantage of this program during the summer of 2024 and will cover the majority of the cost of participation. Please note that participants will be asked to fundraise $1,000 to cover additional costs of the program. Student-athletes can pursue donations or grants to help cover the additional fundraising requirement, and should not let this requirement be a detriment to applying. Coach for College and the PVC will also work with student-athletes to assist them with their fundraising strategy.

SUMMER 2024 CAMP DATES:
The Coach for College program offers 3 different camp options for student-athletes to choose from, each lasting 3 weeks (including travel to and from Vietnam). Applicants should review the dates below and rank their camp preferences in their application.

Camp 1: May 29th-June 24th
Camp 2: June 26th-July 22nd
Camp 3: July 24th-August 19th

Applications must be submitted by the end of Sunday, January 28th. They will then be reviewed by the Coach for College program and members of the Princeton Athletics Department, with formal offers extended to selected student-athletes in mid-February.

Please reach out to Melissa Stephens (Assistant Manager, Athletics Advancement, mstephens@princeton.edu) with any questions regarding the program or the application process.
