Amory Rowe ’95 – Field Hockey & Lacrosse

Being a student-athlete at Princeton requires a competitive attitude both on the field and the classroom.  Princeton provides the ability to challenge yourself, to discover how far you can go.  Each practice should be better than the one before, each grade an improvement on the previous semester,  It is not enough at Princeton to give an average effort.  Hard work, extra hours, dedication and a commitment are required to achieve your potential.  We did not win a national championship by going through the motions of practice day after day.  We won because every player on the team was willing to push herself to the limit.  Students at Princeton challenge themselves and each other, creating an environment that is competitive and inspiring.  This attitude pervades both the classrooms and fields, and defines in part, what it takes to be a Princeton student-athlete.
