The Department of Athletics is proud of its unparalleled tradition of competitive excellence and commitment to Education Through Athletics. Princeton’s 237 national championships, 575 Ivy League titles, and 153 Olympians reflect a culture of achievement —one that underscores a sustained commitment to developing accomplished student-athletes poised to make an impact within and beyond their sport. This ecosystem is further strengthened by the Athletic Director’s Fund for Excellence (ADFE), which provides flexible, high-impact resources across the Department of Athletics and its programs.
Fueled by philanthropic support and championed by John Mack ’00, the Ford Family Director of Athletics, the fund enables timely investment in both emerging needs and ongoing strategic priorities. These efforts include the updating and expansion of the department’s multimedia/communications infrastructure, student-athlete mental health and wellness support, dedicated career development efforts, enhanced inclusion and excellence programming, community engagement initiatives and coach and staff development opportunities, to name a few. The AD’s Fund allows the Department to proactively address the shifting needs of student-athletes and coaches while raising the profile of Princeton Athletics on the national stage.
