Jason Wright to be featured April 17th as part of the McCandless Speaker Series

The Princeton Varsity Club is excited to announce Jason Wright as this year’s featured speaker as part of the Jake McCandless ’51 PVC Speaker Series. Wright recently joined Ariel Investments as Managing Partner and Head of Investments of their new “Project Level” women’s sports initiative. Prior to this role, Wright made history as the NFL’s first Black Team President (and only the 4th former NFL player to hold such a role), leading the Washington Commanders organization from 2020 to 2024 where he oversaw all business operations and helped the franchise through a significant rebranding process and ownership sale at a record price. After graduating as an Academic All-American from Northwestern University, Wright played seven years in the NFL before becoming one of the fastest elected partners at McKinsey & Company.

Wright will engage in conversation with Ford Family Director of Athletics John Mack ’00 on the topics of leadership, culture building, navigating organizational change and effectively using one’s platform, to name a few.

The event will take place in the Frick Chemistry Building (map) beginning with a light optional lunch at 12:00pm in the Frick Atrium, followed by the formal speaking program at 12:45 p.m. in Taylor Auditorium.

Both portions of the event are open to PVC members and members of the Princeton campus community, but we ask that all guests please RSVP in advance.

The Jake McCandless ’51 PVC Speaker Series was endowed in the name of J.L. “Jake” McCandless ’51, who coached Princeton to the 1969 Ivy League football championship during the Tigers’ centennial year of football. Since its inception, the Series has featured a variety of speakers including Professors, Olympians, Civil Rights Activists, Sports Professionals and Team Owners, and more.
