Princeton Athletics recently celebrated National Girls & Women in Sports Day with its annual NGWSD Clinic. This day, recognized by teams and leagues across the country, honors the legacies and accomplishments of women’s athletes while paying it forward to the younger generations behind them.
The Princeton NGWSD Clinic accomplished both of these goals – bringing women’s athletes together with girls and boys from the community to simply play with one another. Nearly 300 children attended the clinic, including several kids from organizations like Let Her Play. The children enjoyed engaging with the athletes and bonding with them over their shared love for sports.

More than 100 female student-athletes helped coach the clinic, which featured a variety of sports like soccer, field hockey, rugby, and softball to name a few. Families spent the afternoon soaking up fun at each station before later filling the stands in Jadwin Gym. Following the clinic, Tiger fans stuck around to cheer on Princeton women’s basketball as they defeated Cornell.
