Princeton Athletics Celebrates National Girls & Women in Sports Day with Youth Clinic

Each winter the entire sports industry comes together to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of women and girls in sports. February marks the celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, an entire day dedicated to the women athletes, coaches, and administrators who have left their mark within the industry.

To celebrate this special day, Princeton Athletics hosted its annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) Youth Clinic bringing together female student-athletes and young girls from the community. The free clinic offered local children a chance to engage in friendly competition with the athletes while bonding over their love for sports. A record 300+ children attended the clinic, including girls from community organizations like Let Her Play and Girls on the Run.

Nearly 100 female student-athletes helped coach the clinic, transforming Jadwin Gym into a variety of sports stations for the girls to learn new sports. After the afternoon clinic ended, the children and their families stayed to cheer on Princeton women’s basketball as the Tigers defeated Brown 76-63.
