The Princeton Varsity Club and Athletes in Action teamed up again this year for their annual Teams & Toys gift drive. More than 30 varsity teams participated in this festive program by purchasing gifts that were on the wish lists of underprivileged children in the community. The program concluded with the Teams & Toys gift wrapping party on Thursday, December 1st, when nearly 250 student-athletes teamed up to wrap presents for over 300 children. These gifts will be distributed through several community organizations, including Community House, Crossings and Academic Success Today during this holiday season.
“One of the most memorable moments during Teams & Toys was when we were about an hour into the event and suddenly, I looked around and saw all of the fun chaos going on. There were different teams wrapping a number of different gifts, and everyone was smiling, laughing singing, and wrapping,” said Kamryn Loustau ’23 from the women’s soccer team about the event. “It was so cool to see so many people giving up time to do something that benefits someone other than themselves.”

To keep the giving spirit alive, the Student-Athlete Service Council also organized its first-ever winter clothing collection. Teams were invited to donate gently worn items throughout the month of December to support Uncommon Sports Group. Several boxes were collected which will aid individuals across the globe who are living in poverty.
