Calling all Tiger student-athletes!
The application window for Coach for College is now open. Click here to apply by Wednesday, February 5th!
Coach for College is a program open to varsity student-athletes, including graduating seniors, which aims to increase higher education attainment among disadvantaged Vietnamese adolescents using the excitement of life skills provided by participation in sports-related activities. The program provides American college athletes with an intensive and collaborative service experience that engenders the skills needed to exercise leadership and commitment to positive social change. The PVC has partnered with Coach for College to sponsor 45 Princeton varsity student-athlete participants over the past seven summers.
The Coach for College camps are hosted in the Mekong Delta region of Southern Vietnam and last three weeks, which allow student-athletes to couple with another summer internship. The camp dates are noted below:
- May 20th – June 15th
- June 17th – July 13th
- July 15th – August 10th
The PVC will sponsor up to (7) student-athletes to take advantage of this program and will cover the majority of the cost of participation (roughly $4,180). Please note that the program does require an additional fundraising component to be completed by the student-athlete (roughly $1,000). Assistance is available to help student-athletes cover the fundraising requirement, and it should not be a deterrent to applying. A passport is required for this program.
More information on the program can be found here. We also encourage you to check out testimonials of some of our past participants, such as Kazu Shigenobu ’22 (men’s soccer) and Carlie Littlefield ’21 (women’s basketball).
