Princeton Varsity Club members, Corporate Partners, and members of the Princeton Athletics “Team Around the Team” gathered in-person on Tuesday, February 22nd for the PVC Winter Coaches Luncheon. The event took place at the Friend Center on Princeton’s campus.
Featured winter programs included women’s basketball, men’s track & field, men’s basketball and women’s squash. Following opening remarks from Ford Family Director of Athletics, John Mack ’00, each featured winter head coach – Carla Berube (women’s basketball), Fred Samara (men’s track & field), Mitch Henderson ’98 (men’s basketball), and Gail Ramsay (women’s squash) – provided updates on their respective program and their goals heading into their respective postseason stretches. In the days following the luncheon, men and women’s basketball and men’s indoor track & field each secured their respective Ivy League championships.

Each winter program was also represented by a student-athlete leader, who shared perspectives on their time as a Princeton student-athlete, what it has meant to represent the Orange & Black, and how their experience has been shaped by the Department of Athletics’ tenants of Achieve, Serve, Lead and Education Through Athletics. The luncheon also celebrated Colten Young ’22 (men’s swimming & diving) and Grace Stone ’23 (women’s basketball), who were recognized as recipients of the PNC Bank Student-Athlete Achiever Award for the fall season. This awards recognizes achievement across academics, athletics and community service and engagement.
