Classes of 2024 & 2025 welcomed at the PVC Student-Athlete Welcome BBQ

With Tiger student-athletes back on campus and the 2021-22 academic year in full swing, the Princeton Varsity Club welcomed the return of one of its long-standing hallmark September events: the PVC Student-Athlete Welcome BBQ.

Princeton staff, coaches and Athletics Fellows came together the evening of Monday, September 13th to formally welcome more than 450 student-athletes from the Classes of 2024 and 2025 to the Princeton Athletics team and PVC family. This year’s event, which was held outdoors in Princeton Stadium, included its share of food, music and fun, as well as brief remarks from new Ford Family Director of Athletics, John Mack ’00 and Associate Director of Athletics for the PVC, Brendan Van Ackeren.

The event also highlighted the 25th year of the Princeton Varsity Club, which was established as a core part of the Athletic Department during the 1997-98 academic year. The PVC continues its mission of supporting all 37 varsity teams and nearly 1,000 Tiger student-athletes, helping to provide meaningful programming, events and opportunities for student-athletes to achieve, serve and lead outside of their specific-sport.
