The Princeton Varsity Club hosted its first PVC Coaches Luncheon of the year, featuring four head coaches and four student-athletes from fall programs.
Ford Family Director of Athletics, John Mack ’00 welcomed PVC members, campus colleagues, and other members of the Princeton Athletics community, and provided some fall updates from across the department. Following his remarks, head coaches from the Princeton football, women’s volleyball, men’s water polo, and women’s cross country teams also addressed the audience. The coaches spoke to the Princeton values and thanked the PVC members and supporters for helping them create such a transformative athletic experience. They also spotlighted their student-athletes and talked about program success and the competitive hopes that they have for each of their teams.
The luncheon then concluded with a panel conversation with four student-athletes representing each of the featured programs. The athletes told stories from some of their favorite Princeton memories and reflected on their journeys to becoming a Tiger. They also answered questions about defining success, developing leadership skills, and finding their passions for service in alignment with departmental pillars Achieve, Serve, and Lead.

During the Fall Coaches Luncheon, Princeton Athletics presented Lucia Scalamandre ’26 (women’s volleyball) and Giuliano Fravolini Whitchurch ’26 (men’s soccer) with the PNC Student-Athlete Achiever Award. Sponsored by PNC Bank, this award recognizes two student-athletes during each sports season who excel academically, give back to their community, and engage in leadership activities on their campus.

The 2025-26 school year marks 11 years that PNC Bank has teamed up with Princeton Athletics to recognize Tiger student-athletes. So to celebrate the ongoing collaboration and partnership, Princeton Athletics will highlight former Tigers and previous Achievers throughout the coming year.
