Princeton Varsity Club members, Corporate Partners, and members of the Princeton Athletics βTeam Around the Teamβ gathered in-person in Princeton Stadium on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 15th as part of the PVC Fall Coaches Luncheon. This marked the first in-person edition of this luncheon series since February 2020.
Featured fall programs included womenβs soccer, womenβs volleyball, menβs water polo and football. Following opening remarks from new Ford Family Director of Athletics, John Mack ’00, each featured fall head coach – Sabrina King β01 (womenβs volleyball), Sean Driscoll (womenβs soccer), Dusty Litvak (menβs water polo), and Bob Surace β90 (football) – provided updates on their respective program and 2021 season to-date. Together, these four programs had posted a 40-7-1 combined fall record, good for a winning percentage of 85%, at the time of the luncheon.

Following formal remarks from the featured coaches, four student-athletes representatives (noted below) engaged in a panel conversation, moderated by Associate Director of Athletics for the Princeton Varsity Club and Advancement, Brendan Van Ackeren. The Tiger student-athletes provided behind-the-scenes perspectives into their Princeton student-athlete experiences, ways in which they and their teams effectively navigated the challenges of the past year, and shared examples of how Princeton Athletics has afforded them opportunities to Achieve, Serve and Lead through athletic competition, in the classroom and beyond.

The luncheon also featured Ben Bograd β23 (men’s soccer) and Melina Mahood β23 (womenβs volleyball), who were recognized as recipients of the PNC Bank Student-Athlete Achiever Award for the fall season. This awards recognizes achievement across academics, athletics and community service and engagement.
